Hello friend who’s reading this bio! Let me tell you a little about myself:
I describe myself as a musician-singer-artist from the continent of America, born in the year 1978. I am human/mortal like you. Music is a passion for me, a love, it mesmerizes me and it has been a part of my life since I was 13 years old. Now, I’m releasing my first album at 44 years old (it’s never too late!) with a lot of love and enthusiasm.
I’m experiencing a human rebirth, and music accompanies me in this rebirth: It expresses it, shapes it, and bears witness to it.
“Muerde” is my first album, in which I wrote nine songs, sang, produced, edited, recorded videos, and played almost all the instruments. In some songs, other musicians also play percussion, drums, and double bass. It has been a profound journey, and I deeply appreciate everyone who has participated.
Biographical Synopsis of Alejandro Jenné, artistic name: Elányma
It has always been difficult for me to reduce my musical-human journey to a few words. Do I focus on magical discoveries, passions, mentors, professional experiences or transcendental experiences?! The artist who recorded ‘MUERDE’ no longer exists; I am already another artist, another human. 🙂 Nevertheless, here I share an ultra-mini-tiny fragment of the chronology in my musical journey.
I began playing the electric guitar, admiring metal and rock bands like Guns’n’Roses. Then, I fell in love with flamenco and the flamenco guitar, and later with the Indian sitar. I have always been fortunate to have great mentors in all these styles. Next, the Renaissance lute came into my life. I fell in love with baroque music and dedicated myself professionally to this music and this instrument and other ancient string instruments for a couple of decades. However, my heart also loved David Bowie and other artists like Philip Glass, Brian Eno, John Cale, Simon Diaz, and music from other continents, from Africa, India, and more. There is so much music that nourishes me, that I love and admire.
My path in music-human pedagogy also transformed my vision of music and the human being. I studied a variety of alternative pedagogies: Orff-Schulwerk, Kodály, and Waldorf. In this search, I encountered the intuitive pedagogy of Pär Ahlbom and the teachings of Werbeck for the development of the voice! These two provoked a great change: my experience of music expanded and deepened, silence appeared and my listening transformed.
I have explored other dimensions of music, including music that is not tied to any traditions and music that breaks concepts of what we believe music is. I have explored music-consciousness in all these dimensions. So many mentors, so many genres, so many dimensions!
I have played in high-level professional baroque ensembles, composed jingles for Hershey’s, taught in alternative schools, led many workshops on play-music-pedagogy, but my true love is improvising, composing, singing, playing with other musicians, and guiding others to discover their talents and skills in art and music. All of this inspires me and gives energy and movement to this dream called life.
Thank you. Have an excellent day. Strength and love!
